A place where I can share my feelings and observations about being a Montessori teacher. Sometimes Maria is the only one who understands . . .

What else did we do in November?
We also learned about Conservation of Matter, Weathering and Erosion and Herps. Herpetology includes the study of amphibians and reptiles. I made this cool Native Utah Herps book, and the students can write postcards from Utah reptiles and amphibians, signing the postcards with the animal's scientific name. Then other students read the postcard and look through the book to learn who it is from. Then they can read about the animal and write another postcard. They've enjoyed this. We did this cool surveying work and then made posters to educate people about herps. The junior high kids' brains went straight to the gutter (herpes?). Nice.
